nnujmuivn moi DR NEWMAN. Dr. A. K. Newman, Reform member for Wellington East, thanked the electors from the balcony at The, Dominion board. He said that he was exceedingly obliged to the electors of Wellington East for their kindness in again returning him at the head of, the poll, an honour which they had done him for many years. In his electorate the. fight had beeh-abhi'tieuli'irlyicleanione;. there had been no disturbances and no trouble. His opponents had fought fairly, and the newsoapora had treated him with the greatest courtesy. The election campaign had been a particularly pleas'ant one. He had always tried to 6erve the BeODle-well and faithfully, and he thanked his friends most sincerely for having again placed him at the heno: of the noil. He, was exceedingly grateful to those men and women, who had worked for him in the contest. (Applause.) MB. L. M'KENZIE. In returning tlianks to his supporters Mr. L. M'Kenzie congratulated himself on his position' ob tho poll, consioerinu the short time he had been in tho field. He congratulated his successful opponent, but went on to point out that the latter had won on a minority vote. (Voices: Cut it out.) Still, he had every Teason to congratulate him, and lie hoped nt some future .time to be able to come forward and again place his /services before the electors, when lie'was confident ho would met -with greater success.
