JUVENILE COURT
A sitting of tho Juvenile Court was held on Saturday morning. Mr. L. Page, S.H., was on tho Bench. A lad 11 years of age pleaded guilty to the theft of a horse, valued at .£lO, tho property of Douglas T. Steele, also another horse valued at a similar amount, the property of Reginald Wclsby. Tho lad obtained ono of the horses from a paddock and rode it. He later obtained possession of the other auimal and rode that also. The charges were laid under section 3of the Puiice Gli'i-nees Amendment Act of last session, which makes it an olfenco_ to "borrow , horses or motor vehicles without permission. The lad was placed on probation for two years. Another lad ivlio stole a bicycle was cautioned and placed on probation for twelve months. For stealing a quantity of timber, valued at 155., a sehooUwy was convicted ami placed on probation for 12 months. The limber was stolen from a. building in course of erection in Courtenav Place. The lad was caught taking away tho timber in a hand-cart.
