Venn, featherweight, champion of Now Zealand, now in the lightweight class, defeated Peter Cook, lightweight champion. They fought tlie full IS rounds. Venn was knocked down three times, on onn occasion Inking , the count (o nino seconds. Venn looked a beaten man in the eleventh round, but made a remnrkablc recovery in the last three rounds. The refereo's verdict was not favourably received by a section of the audience. ' ■
