Detter coin petition resulted, however. in tho sale of animals in forward condition, but prices wero somewhat lower than bite ruling rates. Fat: sheep: A (rood yarding, a total of 2131 being nenncd. The greater portion of the varding consisted of shorn sheep. The duality showed improvement on late vaj'ding.s. Although deinaiui' was good, iK'iccs were lower by 2s. per head as compared with those lately ruling. Kxlra prime hoavy-wcifjht wethers, (in?. 3d.; shorn. 30s. to 425.; medium, '18s. to !>2s.: shorn. 375. to 3ils.; inferior, 39s to 415.; shorn, 21s. to 285.; best ewes, none on offer; shorn, to 12s. 9d.; medium ewe.s. 3!)s. to .10s.; shorn, 2!ls. to 335.; inferior. 275. to 33s ; shorn, IDs. to 225. il'at lambs: 132 penned. The quality was mixed. Prices for good were firmer; I medium quality sold at good rates.
Best lambs. 345. Gil.; medium, 30s. to 325.; inferior. 235. to 2(is.; others, 19s. to 21s. I'ins: A full yarding. There ivns keen demand, and prices wore about equal to last week's rates. Prime heavy baeonors made up to £!) per head, or from lOd. to 102 d. por lb.; prime porkers made from lOid. to lljd. per lb.
