TVOODVILLE RACES .i BICx HANDICAP WON BY CRKNIDES. By Teleerapli.—Special Correspondent. Wootlville, December 10. The Woodville Jockey Club's' Spring Meeting opened in .fine weather. The sum of i' 24,431 was put through the tclnlisator. With the exceptioin of Coldstream, who was neglected on the machine, tho Hurdle field was evenly backed. Zeus was tho favourite. At tho start Hautawa and Prince Delawaro were in the van, with the others strung out, Goldstrcam whipping the field. Entering the straight Prince Delawaro closed on Zeus, but ho rnn off at the fenco and unseated his rider. Zeus was then challenged by Hautawa and Tuticorn, and he had to he ridden out to ivin by a length. Tuticorn was a neck away. Goldstrcam, who appeared sore, was running on fourth. _ There was a field nf 20 in the Trial Plate, the two-year-olds Tessares and Gastoig monopolising the belting- Tho latter drew tho outside and got hopelessly left. Hallowvonia, Gold Pan, and Little River were in the lead till the straight was reached, where Gasbag and All Cerise ran to the front, and tho former, finishing the best, won easily from All Cerise. Ivinsom and Hallowvonia were close up. Cronides and Hurry Tin were the favourites for the big handicap, and wliilo the former won, the latter cut up badly and was in the rear the whole way. At tho start the favourite took charge, and with Penury Rose he led out of tho straight the first time. Down the back, Oratress, on tho rails," and Rose Wr»nth and Demos were nearest tho leaders. Iwo furlongs from home Penury Rose fell liack, and entering the straight Demos joined the three-year-old. At the distance Oratress also put in a challenge, and in the run to the post/ the trio were hard ridden. Crenides finished most gamely and won by a neckfrom Demos, with Oratress the sfime distance away. Rose Pink was fourth, and then came Dribble. Tho top-weight, Admyrn, was at a very short price in tho Grandstand Handicap, I kit after having every chance to win sho hfifltcn oiit of ft plyce*.
