Tlie Lord Mayoral election lias resulted in a deadlock similar to that which ocicurred in 1915, when tlie Government appointed tht Lord Mayor. Alueimen Richards and Lambert have received thirteen votes each. Tho Assembly lias adjourned, but it is anticipated that Mr. Uolniau will appoint Alderman Richards. -Prior lo the election tho commitlco increased the Mayoral allowanco to owing to tho advauco ill prices—Press Assn.
