Rome, December 1. During the uproar in the Chamber the respective groups assumed a threatening attituae. and debate was impossible, owinur to vociferous howling and vulgar iuvective. A resort to violence seemed inevitable. but the President; prevented an outbreak. It is feared in some quarters that a continuation of the scenes will render Parliament useless, aud will possibly necessitate another geueral election. —Aus.-NX Cable Assn.
CRISIS NOW PAST. (Bee. December 0, 9.50 p.m.) Rome, December -I. Italy's gravest ..crisis is now; past. The strikers insist upon a continuance of their idleness here as a manifestation ot condolence with tho relatives of thedead. Elsewhere, with the exception cf Naples; the strikers have returned to work. Tho extremists hoped that the soldiers would refuse to fire, and that the mob would thus get the upper hand. The contrary happened, qnd turbulent demonstrations, resulting' in shootings, occurred 1 in every industrial district, but the extremists are few and the country is expected to nettle dowJi.—Reuter.
