A meeting of the Comm'ttce of Advice wt up to deal with question:. related lo the.future of the Wellington Training College was held in the offices of the Education Board on December L There were present.: Mr. T. Forsyth (in the ciiair) and Messrs. ,H M'Tnlyro, I'. Wilson, J. S. Tennant (principal of Ihe coliega), and F. It. 'I3ukewe.il (senior inspector). Mr. J. Caughlny (AssistnntDireelor of Kdncalion) was associated with the committee in its deliberations. The committee submitted, llioifollowing reconimcndaDons to the Kducatiou IBuord:—

"That. 'Thorndon and Kc'.burn Schools be retained as normal school-..

"That a class for backward children be established a' : school to be selected by the principal.

"That, in view of Ihe anticipated increase in tlie nnmbcr of Tr.rn.ng College etndenls, the remaining bloc!: of the Normal School, Kelburn, be at onco proceeded with, so as to provide in the meantime sufficient, student nminimodation.'''

The above recommendations were discussed by the Education Board at its meeting yesterday. Mr. Moss said that the Y.W.C.A. was to lw heartily thanked for taking an interest in the accommodation of the young women students. He hoped, however, that the -acceptance of.the olTer made by the Y."\V.O.A. would not prejudice the board in its endeavour to induce the Government In do it's duty I>y providing su'lable accommodation. Mr. T. Forsyth (chairman of Ihe. board) expressed t!ie view that there was no ground for Mr. Mo-;s'* apprehension. Something had to he done immediately, md the Y.W.C.A. oiler provided the best temporary solution of flic accommodation problem.
