EASTERN PACIFIC TRADE. The Talune, which is due at Auckland from Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji on Dcccmber 17 is to be withdrawn from tho Wostern Pacific trade on arrival there. She will then take up the Eastern Pacific trade, relieving the Flora. For a long time this trade has been run by a cargo steamer, but with the entry of tho Talune it will bf run as a combined passenger and cargo service. Tho advent of the Taluno will not only be of benefit to passengers, but slio will carry about 500 tons more cargo than the Flora, which has often had to shut out cargo at Auckland owing to lack of space. She will also bo enabled to deal better with the large quantities of fruit offering at the Islands.
THE MAIIENO. Tho Maheno arrived at Auckland from Sydney on Monday morning. An uneventful inurney from Sydney is reported, with a full passenger list. Ucr cargo list include SCB bags of peanuts. 1700 baps rice, 680 bags nf wax. 946 sacks of salt, 552 cases of fruit. 590 bales of wood null), 1058 bundles of tiles, and a largo quantity of general cargo. This cargo includes transhipments from the Saros. Wangaraltn, Ajana, Surrey, Tango Mam, St. Albans and the Van Cloon. Her passengers include 25 Indians and !5 Chinese.
OMANA TO DIUNG COAL. The Auckland agents for the Australian steamer Omana have received advice, that the vessel has been released temporarily from Government service on tho Australian coast in order to bring a cargo of coal to the northern port. She is .c.vpectcd lo leave Newcastle about December 16. During most of the war period the Omana ha-; been cng.iEcd carrying coal from Newcastle to Port Piric and oro from Port Pirie to Ncwcasflc.
LOUIS THKinAULT ARRIVES. Tho three-masted schooner Louis Thcriault arrived at Wellington, early yesterday morning from Adelaide, after a pas sage of 23 days. After being granted pratique the schooner was taken to a, berth at the King's Wharf by tile Pelican at 2.39 p.m. .She has a cargo of 476 tons of salt and 50 tons of bark to (lischargo for Samuel Turner, Ltd.
