COL. MITCHELL AT BROOKLYN. Liout.-Colonel Mitchell, D.5.0., .addressed a large meeting of ladies at the Masonic Hall, Brooklyn, last night. Colonel Mitchell said tho unrest to bo found all over tho world to-day was an aftermath of tho war > These were days of reconstruction. ( It was a very easy thing to promote cl;(ss hatred, discontent, ana bitterness, but what a difficult thing it wae to end it, when once started. Ono of tho greatest problems wus the cost of living, The Government liad done something, he believed, but they could have done a lot more, and they were to be blamed for not having dono so. He Urged that New Zealand should endeavour to manufacture more willnii tno country. It was a country of infinite resources nnd required a very jrreat deal more development. He advocated polling on with tho hydro-clectnc whemes, ravine that ■ electricity would relieve a irood deal of our dependence on.coal. Colonel Mitchell dealt at wmo length with national superannuation, education, and other matters.
