HABDSILTP TO DOMESTIC WORKERS.
Melbourne, December 8. The strike of gasmen is seriously interfering with domestic life, and is badly hnndieapping many commerical enterprises, and throwing their employees out of work. Tho engine-drivers and firemen of the gas companies have now joined tho strike.—Press Assn.
THREAT- OF BEER FAMINE IN SYDNEY
RESULT OP STRIKE. Sydney, December 8. Unless there is an early settlement of the brewery strike, of which there is no present indication, a beer famine is threatened. There was not too much available on Saturday, and bottled beer was reserved for. counter service in order to make the stocks linger out.—Press Assn.
