SPEECH BY MR. A. M'NICOL. Mr. A. M'Nicol, Ileform candidate for the r.ihiatua seat, addressed a large and iMithusiastic meeting' iu the Dannevi.ke Town Hall last night. The Mayor (Mr. Li. 1. Anderson) presided. The ..candidate 1 was given a. splendid hearing vritar ouli a single interruption. Mr. M'Nkol expressed himself as a | straight-out supporter of Mr. Ma.sey ' because he considered that the Prime.' Minister was the only leaded' .who had taken any practical steps lor the formation 01 a national party. He cm Mined a scheme for the practical progress of ( iihe country, embracing, tiic proper ! settlement of the land, efficient methods of loading and railway construction, and 1 Uie development of hyd'.o-electrie power schemes. He abo urged tJiq necessity I for a strong Imperial policy of inimi-' gration. Mr. M'Nicol concluded by describing graphically the work of the Peace Conference, and said that how- : ever great; might be a movement that 1 : swayed democracy, in the last resort one ' mail must' decide the d.'stin.v of bis count y.
