PROPOSAL TO BREAK DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
DISCUSSION IN THE SENATE

Senator Hitchcock", in the Senate, introduced a resolution authorising a breach of diplomatic relations with Mexico, and enabling tho President thenceforward to act at his discretion. The matter was referred to the I'oreigh Relations Or.ninr'ttee.
Senator King has introduced in the Senate n resolution empowering tho President to us? the army and navy to enforce payment by Mexico of claims for damage, by Americnn cit'zens. Mr. Lansing has conferred with the Foreign delations Committee. It is understood that the conference had reference t<> the resolution proposing the breaking off of diplomatic relations with Mexico.
