Tlio growth if Hie suburbs of Kil-. birnie and llataitai has taxed to the utmost, tlio accommodation at present provided by the church room, and a Church Building Fund Committee has been 6ct up in the Kilbirnie parish, in order to ritiso funds for a new church for All Saints'. The need for a new building has been keenly felt for some years past, slates the "Church Chronicle," but during the war period it was considered that the.tinic was not opportune to con. linue raising the necessary funds, as the parishioners' thoughts were concentrated on tho moro urgent calls for financial and other assistance to the various patriotic organisations which were attending to the comforts and wants of our soldiers. Now the war is over, it' has been decided to make determined efforts (o raise sufficient funds to enablo a church to be built to tho glory of God. as a memorial to thoso members of the parish who made the supreme sacrifice in the servico of their King and country in the great war. It is hoped that a 6tart will be made with the building by the end of 1921. The design has been prepared bv Mr. J. Charlesworth, architect, of Wellington, and it is estimated that the church will cost approximately .£SOOO. ■
