RIVERINA AND WESTRALIA. The Rlverina is next timed to leave Sydney on Debomber 17. arriving at Wellington on December 21. On tho return trip she 1b to sail at noon en December 24.
The Westralia is to leave Melbourne on December 18, arriving hero on tho morning of December 24. She will sail for Melbourne direct on December 31.
' ' PARATTAH ARRIVES. Tho Parattak. arrived in tho stream at 10.45 o'clock last evening from San Francisco, via Auckland. She has a cargo of oil to put out, after which she goes on to Brisbane.
THE WHAKATANE. The New Zealand Shipping Company advke that the Whakatane left Sydney, Cape Breton (N.F.), on November 28, in continuation of her voyage from Montreal to Auckland.
AYRSHIRE TOR LIVERPOOL. The F. and S. steamer Ayrshire arrived from Tokomaru Bay last evening to complete loading. She is now to pail for London, via Panama, at daybreak on Wednesday.
WAIMATE REPORTED. Cable advice has been received by tho New Zealand Shipping Company that tho Waimato left Port Said on November 27 for London, in continuation of her voyage from Bluff.
THE NORTHUMBERLAND. Tho New Zealand and African Company report that the Northumberland is duo at Auckland on December 20 from London, via Suez, Bombay, and Australia. Wellington will be reached <n December 29. The vessel Is to load in New Zealand for Home, sailing towards the, end of January.
THE KTJROW. The Knrow is duo at Napier on December 15 from San Francisco. Her other ports are Lyttelton and Dunedin.
OPAWA AT HOME. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Opawa, which left Wellington on October 2, arrived at London on December 1.
KAIWARRA DUE TO-DAY. The Union Company's new steamer Kaiwarra is duo at Wellington to-day from Adelaido and Lyttelton. On completion of discharge the vessel goes to Newcastle to load for Wellington. THE TALTJSE. . Tho Taluno is oxpected to leave Suva on her return journey to Auckland on December 13. She should arrive thero on December 17,' and is timed to sail in the Flora's place on December 20.
YAN OLOON LEAVES SYDNEY. The Royal Dutch Packet Navigation Oompany's steamer Van Oloon, en route from Java to South America, via Australian ports, left Sydney for Auckland at 7 p.m. on Monday. She is duo at daybreak to-day, and after taking in 200 tons of water will resume her voyage tho same day without 'berthing.
SHAW-SAVILL FLEET. . Tho Raranga left Wellington last ovening for Napier to commence loading. The Patella is due at Wellington on Monday morning to commenco loading. The Kia Ora arrived at Wanganui yesterday morning from Waitara, and completes loading her refrigerated cargo there. On Monday she is lo sail for Newcastle, Melbourne. .Hobart, -nd London, via Cape Town.
The lonic is to sail for London, via Panama, on Wednesday.
MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. 'Mr. J. Ne.ale, local traffic manager for tho Union Company, who haß been acting manager for the • company at Weetport. returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr. H. Whyte, chief steward of the Maori, has signed off, and his place has been taken by Mr. H. Spurgin, late of the Mararoa.
Mr. 0. F. G. Taylor has joined tho Australford as wireless operator, vice Mr. C. Lowry.
Mr. J. Leonard, extra officer of the Mokoia, has come ashore. ■
Mr. E. Henry, extra third officer of the Riverina, has signed off. Captain F. L. G. Jaunay took command of the Kowhai yesterday, and Captain J. Plowman came ashore for orders.
Mr. A. J. D. M'Arthur, late third officer of the Tahiti, has joined tho Raranga in a similar capacity. Captain F. Stearne, of Lyttelton, iB to take command of the Aorere at Wellington as soon as tho vessel is ready for sea. Captain A. H. Thorpe, harbourmaster at Lyttelton, who has been on holiday leave, has returned from a trip to Sydney and Melbourne, and resumed duty.

The Paloona is scheduled to sail at noon to-day for Melbourne direct.
Tho Kamo is to leave Wcstport this cvoning for Wellington. The Waitemata is duo at Wellington today with a full cargo from Newcastle The Ngatoro is to sail on Tuesday for Greymouth to load for Napier, Gisborne, and Tokomaru Bay.. She then goes to Whangarei to load cement for Wellington. Tho repairing cl the damaged steamer Karori was commenced on Wednesday morning in tho Port Chalmers dock.
The Koromilto is expected to leave Lyttelton on Monday with a full cargo of produce for Auckland. After discharge she will proceed to Newcastle.
Tho Kowhai sailed last evening for Greymouth, who.ro she again loads for Wellington.
To complete discharge tho Australford is to sail this evening for Auckland. Tho Oalm is duo from Bouthern ports oil Tuesday, and will sail tho saiuo evening for Wanganui.
Tho Hinemoa is «uo back from the Cook Strait lights to-day. alio is to go up on the slip for cleaning and painting on Holiday.
Tho following appears in this week'« "Gazette" :-The Otago Harbour Board has notified that during dredging operations in Deborah Bay, Lower Otago Harbour, six piles will be placed for tho guidance of'the dredge-three on the port side with whito lights corresponding to the .ights n! tho channel, and three on tho starboard side with red lights corresponding to the red lights of the channel. This will leavo a fairway of 540 ft. wide between tho two sots of piles. As Ihe dredge progresses theso piles ivill bo shifted ahead accordingly, and when finished will bo removed. Tho lights will be extinguished on tho two main beacons (ono black and one red) in tho immediate vicinity of that portion of tho channel marked by the temporary piles.
