« INTER-CLUB CHAMPIONSHIV WON BY TUCKER, The final of the abovs contest was played last night before a fairly largo audience. Tucker was first to the hundred, leading by 40 points, and he managed to hold round about tsis load until ho got to 300 points. At this latter stago Key was 255, but with a favourable run, tho former was able to gain 6trengly and reached 36G, when Koy had only 205 to his credit. Tucker was ploying very steadily, gaining from ten to twenty points almost every cue, and on occasion doing oven better. Ho was also fortunate in his leaves, Key ploying ■just a littio off. and missing bv tho narrowest margins most frequently left ihis opponent favourable openings. Tucker was ablo to maintain his lead and evon increase it slightly l>eforo hs got to the noccssary 500. The best breaks wore:—Tucker, 27, 30, 29, 29, 22, 29, 21/ 25; Key, 21, 20, 23. Prizes were presented by tho manager of Alcock's, Tuc-ker-receiving tho gold medal, Key a set of crystalate Ixills, and Rait a cuo and I case for the highest break made by a non-prize-winuer. Mr. Key congratulated Messrs. Alcock Ltd.. on the ideal conditions provided players, and . thiuiked Messrs. Owen and Ivell on their eflicient refereeing and marling l .
