Smith alleged that Mrs. Babago made use of particularly disgusting ■ language to him. alleging that he was anything but a respectable and decent-living man. O'Learv and Mr. C. B. O'Doniieil for the defendants. POLICE CASES. • (Beforo Mr. E. Page, S.M.) John Earl was remanded for a week on the application of Chief-Detective Boddam, on a charge of theft of 10s., the property of Dorothy Louise Smith. Bail was allowed in the sum of Pleas of guilty.were tendered by Alfred .Tolm JTeliier and Frederick Pearce, who were charged with being rogues and vagabonds in that they were found by night without lawful excuse on tho enclosed premises of Huuse. Black ami Co., Nelson Street. The defendants were found sleeping in a loft. Sub-Inspector Emerson stated that complaints had been received by tho police as to people sleepiuir in tho loft in question. The defendants stated that they had no money, and had nowhere to sleep, so they went to tho loft. Each accused was conviclctf and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon within twelve months. Two first offenders for , drunkenness were each fined 10s.
