—.— PROGRAMME OF MATCHES WITH ENGLISH TEAM. By Telesranh.—Prcßs Association. Auckland, December i. Seven matches in New Zealand will be played by English Northern Union Leaeue reDresentntives next season. This decision was come to at a meeting of the New Zealand executive. Th New, South .Wals. Union wrote, supplying particulars of the nroiected itinerary-of the English team in their Australian tour, 'and reouestins the local body to draw ..lip a P 'minion programme. This was agreed ti. as follows:—Test matches at Christchurch. Wellington, and Auckland', and a fourth match at Auckland against the locr,'. representatives. These four matches are to be played on Saturdays. In addi'iou three mid-week matches will be . vwd, uiig each at Hamilton, Nanier. and Greymouth, the latter team to include Marlborough and Nelson , players. Grants of .£3O were allocated to the West Coast and Wellington Leagues.
Rules governing the Tnaeker Shield were. oiscussed. and certain suggested alterations were referred to the Canterbury League. It was decided to present an appropriate souvenir to each member of the New Zealand team which retentlv toured Australia.
