Bush, Auckland City UnBipcer is returning to the Dominion by tho Ituapohu, which left London a few days ago. A Press Association cablegram from Sydney states that tho Kcv. Ernest Dnv'ies lias been elected president of tho Congregational Union of Australia and Now Zealand. Mr. G. ]■-. Getting, chief quarantine officer for New South Wales arrived from Sydney yesterday by tho Bivenna. Mr. J. J- M'Grath, whoso health has been unsatisfactory for some months, is at present undergoing treatment at Eotorua. Mr. F. E. Greenish has left for Dimedin to attend the annual meeting of tho New Zealand Institute of Architects. Mr. 11. D. Grocott, Chief Postmaster at Nelson, lias been promoted to bo Chief Postmaster at Christchurch. Ho will bo succeeded by Mr. E. G. Stapp, Assistant-Postmaster at Wellington. Tho change will take place shortly after the New Year. Mr. AV. G. Haybittle, of Feilding, and Mr. ]?. W. Hnybittle, of Wellington, returned from a" trip to tho Southern Islands by tho Government steamer Hineinoa yesterday.
