Grocott, Chief Postmaster at Nelson, lias been promoted to bo Chief Postmaster at Christchurch. Ho will bo succeeded by Mr. E. G. Stapp, Assistant-Postmaster at Wellington. Tho change will take place shortly after the New Year. Mr. AV. G. Haybittle, of Feilding, and Mr. ]?. W. Hnybittle, of Wellington, returned from a" trip to tho Southern Islands by tho Government steamer Hineinoa yesterday.
