A meetiiiß of residents of Karon was held lust night in connection with the amiilß«raatioii proposal. Tho Jfayor (Air. H. G 11. Burn) presided. Tho attendance was very large, and included all tho councillors save one. Tho question of amalgamation was gone intoj and tlio position thoroughly explained by tho Mayor. Councillors Burns, Cnugnlcy, Henderson, and Harrison also addressed, tho meeting, and the following resolution wns eairicd: "That this meeting of the resident.* of Kaiwi congratulates tho Mayor and councillors on the success of their effort to get good terms for the numlirr.mntion with the city." The following resolution wns also carried: "lliat this meeting calls ujxm the ratepayers to vole for amalgamation on December 10.
At an International athletic competition held at the Stockholm Stadium, Myyrae a Finn, established n new javilin-throwng "record" with a throw of 2163 ft.
'From December 19 to January i an international aircraft exhibition will be held in Paris.
