When the new Departmout of Forestry was first set up under Sir Francis Bell it was early announced that the Government would appoint a Director, and that applications for the position would be invited from overseas. The appointment could not well bo made until after the war, but it has now been made. Tho appointee is Captain Leon Mackintosh Ellis, a graduate with honours of the Toronto School of Forestry. Captain Ellis has had experience in Canada, tho United -States of America, France, and the United Kingdom.. i
