CARPENTERS FORBIDDEN CO-PARTNERSHIP.
London, November 21. The Carpenters and Joiners' Union has issued an ultimatum that members employed by Lever Brothers will bo expelled if they continuo to participato in tho firm's co-partnership scheme. Lever's employees declaro that they will resist.—Ans.-N.Z.'Cable Assn.

The Carpenters and Joiners' Union's attempt _to _ wreck Lover's eo-operativo schemo is likely to precipitate the general question of tho trado union attitude on profit-sharing schemes. Trado union leaders are mostly opposed to the principle on tho ground that workers under co-partnership achieve a different economic basis from others. Moreover, as shareholders, they assist in furthering privately controlled industry against Labour's aim for complete nationalisa-tion.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
