An error in tho transmission of the cableerara was tho cause of tho mistake. As there were wounds for doubting the accuracy of the cable news, the .Nov Zealand University authorities (for whom Mr. Jovnt acts in England) cabled to the llieh Commissioner (Sir Thomas _Mackcnziel. who has replied that Mr. Joynt is perfectly well.
