SULPHURIC ACID
SHORTAGE OF SUPPLIES. There has been a scarcity in New Zealand recontly of sulphuric aekt, a product which is used in New Zealand in the Drocess for the manufacture of phosnhatic manures, and also in the testing process in the dairying industry. The Prime Minister lias been advised that the Austrnlford, now on the way to New Zealand, is carrying 300 cases, and that the. Westralia, leaving Melbourne on November 27. is car.ying 270 cases of acid, most «f which is sulphuric acid. In Svoney the position is that there are 1000 cases of sulphuric acid availing shinment. but there is no space available bv which the acid may be sen I: to Now Zealand. Mr. Masscv states that iirrancemcnts are being made for tha allotment, of some deck space on some of the colliers trading to Neiv Zealand, and in this case '-the acid will have to b# railed to Newcastle. Those people who renuire supplies should at once communicate with the Munitions Department, ami. if necessary, arrange for their supplies to be railed to Newcastle.
