Napior, November 24 At the Supremo Court, in his charge to the Grand Jury, Ills Honour Mr. Justice Chapman said that there was quite a moderato number of cases for investigation, an<l they were of a simplo kind. He iras very sorry that thero lvero soino sexual cases, which indicated a considerable state of depravity in soino of the districts of the province. His Honour hoped it was not as widespread us one might be led to suspect. W. G. Perfect, aged H, pleaded guilty to an indecent assault on a female nine years ot age, and sentence was deferred, i'cpn Marenga pleaded guilty to stealing a motor bicycle, valued at J3lO, and was admitted to probation. Giovanni Barjincchi pleaded guilty to forging a receipt and was ordered to come lip for sentence when called upon. James Aikman pleaded guilty to assaulting his father, and was admitted to probation for 18 months, and ordered to pay JJIS costs of the prosecution. Richard Pool was found guilty of two charges of indecent assault against two female children at Waipukurau, and sentenced to fivo years' imprisonment.
