Council to-day con j fiidered the dispute raised by tho Farm and Station Employees' Union regarding wages, hours, and other conditions for thrashimr mill hands. Some 200 farmers were individually cited. Tho sitting was marked by a conciliatory spirit, and some material differences were composed, while others wero left to tho Arbitration Court. The workers claim 3s. an hour and found, and an agreement wiis arrived at on tho basis of Is. 9d. It was agreed that the employers had always treated the inon'fairly in respect to tho food supply. It was agreed that one driver, one feeder or bandcuttcr, two bagmen, and four other hands should bo employed on corn and straw stacks, provided that thero were additional slacltiiien where Ihe ntnek was extra large.
