ANNUAL MEETING IN WELLINGTON. The annual meeting? of tho New Zealand Coal Mine Owners' Association was held in Wellington on Saturday. Sir George Clifford presided. a.nd there wero also present Messrs. J. Wiitson (Blackball Coal Company), W. A. Flavell (Westport Coal Company), G. G. Townsend (West-port-Stoekton Coal Company), C. S. Owen (New Zealand Coal and Oil Company), E. S. White (Pukemiro Collieries), G. Winston (Taupiri Coal Company), J. I). Douglas (Northern Coal Company), T. Shailer Weston (Paparoa Coal Company), W. M. Hannay (Waipa Collieries).
The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted, on the motion of the president, seconded by Mr. Weston. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President. Mr. W. Heece; vice-president, the Hon.E. W. Alison: members of the executive, Messrs. Weston, Flavell and Owen.
The present: situation with mard to the miners' dispute was fully discussed, and tlio question of any further action to bo taken was loft in the hands of the executive.
