FATAL ACCIDENT

FALL DOWN A SHIP'S HOLD. A fall aboard the steamer ICia Ora, ah tile Railway Wharf, caused the death of a young man named Tluimas AYhitley yesterday morning. Whitley, who resided at Pelqne, was employed at Cable's Foundry, Kaiwarra. He went aboard the Kia Ora. in tiho morning to do some fitting, and fell down the hold, a distance oi' over twenty feet. He sustained injuries to the head and died soon after admission to tho Hospital. Whitley was a singlo man, 26 years of use. The accident was not witnessed, and just lmw it occurred is not known.
