SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
TO COMMENCE ON DECEMBER 16. The fact that the date of the general elections has been fixed for Wednesday, December 17, will have an effect on the "breaking up" day nt Die Stale schools of the Dominion, as in many eases throughout the country the schools aro utilised as polling places, 'l'lmt point lias already occurred to tho Education iioard authorities, and it lias been decided that instead of the "breaking up" occurring on Thursday, December 18, as originally intended, school duties will cease at noon on Tuesday, December 10, which will give thoso responsible' time enough to fit out the schoolrooms required as polling places.
