HUTT AND PETONE NOTES
o The amount collected at the concorli given by the l'etone Municipal .Bend last Sunday totalled .£8 7s. Id. The Henetaunga Boating Club will hold its opening regatta next Saturday, when yaclils from the Port Nicholson Yachting Club and Evans Bay will compete. The many friends of Mrs. C. T. Bargh, of liiehmond Street, l'etone, will regret to learn that slw is lying seriously ill in a private hospital in Wellington. The parishioners of St. Augustino's met in St. Augustine's Hall, l'etone, on Wednesday evening to say farewell to the Kev. 11. T. and Mrs. Stealey, who are leaving shortly for tho Old Country. They were presented wit'h a pur.se of sovereigns by Mr. Bert Johnson on behalf of the parishioners in appreciation of tille work done during Mr. Stanley's three years' -ministry. Mr. Stealey thanked them on behalf of himself and wife. During flic evening musical and elocutionary items were given by Hio Boy Scouts, Misses E. Spence, Cotton, Davis, Lockwood, and Messrs. Yates, Johu-on, ■Tollands, Matthews, Kyder, Reid, and l'awson. At tho annual meeting of tho Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic Club officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow ■.--Patron, Mr. E. P. Rishworth; president, Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P.; vicepresidents. Messrs. Welch, Riddiford, Baldwin, Kitto, M'Bain, Cotton, Macaslcill. Guiness, Bunny, Jenness, Fnirburn.
