THE COMMANDEER
Sir.—When tho Leader of tho Opposition returned some time ago he told us that "tho people of Great Britain were not eating so much meat," etc. Why? May I ask, because they have not got it to eat, and what they have got they pay ,2s. Gd. per lb. for ? It is no wonder that the American trust is getting hold of the world's markets. Did anyone expect it to oo anything else? With all Australasian competition eliminated it, v of course, found its chance. Whatever Government gets into power, let there bo no hole-and-corner business about tho / fliSDOsal of our meat and wool in future. Let every farmer have a voice in the matter. Most of us want this commandeer removed. It is most unfair. We arc setting lGd. top price for crossbred wool, and as low* as lid. for pieces. The wool is much lighter this year, so, tho New Zealand farmers are presenting -fiomebodv with about 2s. 6d. per lb. on every pound sold. I ask, Is it justice? - and also ask why our farmers' unions auietiv submit to this injustice? _ The British farmers would not stand it for two minutes—l am,, etc., \ : A PARMER, ——i
