PRODUCE IN STORE
THE' I'KESBNT POSITION. A statement regarding produce in store and shipping prospects was made at reilding on Atonday night by the Minister ot Lands (Hon. D. H. Guthrie). "The prospects for the future an; raceedin»ly blight," said Mr. Guthrie. "We have in store at the present, time 4,2,50,00!) COl'b. carcasses of meat, and an insulated capacity of over 7,500,000 carcasses. Willi nine steamers, having an insulated ea.-. parity of 903,500 601b. carcasses to sail between the present time and the end of this month, and a further nine steamers, with a capacity of '.170,600 carcasses, to arrive during November and the early part of December, it wi'.l be seen that our stores will be reasonably clear before the principal killings take' place. "The Imperial produce in store at the ■ present time is as follows Cheese, 101.495 crates; butter, 103.750 wool. 170,750 biilea; scoured wool, 700,882 bales."
