WANGANUI SHOW INCREASED NUMBER OF ENTRIES AWARDS IN STOCK CLASSES ffly Telegraph.—Special Correfpondent. ■- ■ ... Wanganui, November 18. . The Wanganui Agricultural Association's annual two-day show was opened to-day, but the weather vns very showery all day... This is i)ho second stock show held this year, an autumn exhibition having been held in February, there being no slwiv last year owing to the inSuonm outbreak. Numerically the show is the largest for year.?, the entries being 3526, as compared with 21G8 in toe autumn and 2970 ill 1917. The stock section, however, does not contribute its proportion to the success of the show that it should, horses only showing an increase from 274 in 1917 to 292 this year. On the other hand, cattle have fallen from 274 in 1917 to 184 this year. Sheep, however, show an increase of four, and pigs of four, There is a very big increase in the home industries division, and the exhibition is probably the largest and best ever seen along this • coast. Although the stock entries -were fewer, some very fine animals were shown, nnd the exhibits came from as far afield as Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, nnd Eltbkpi, Taranaki'. .
