KARORI AND THE CITY
AMALGAMATION POLL. At a special meeting of the ICarori Borough Council last evening to conhrm tlio resolution to hold a poll on the (i uestion of amalgamation with the citv. the borough clerk read the following letter from the Town Clerk, Wellington: "Keferring to the question of amalgamation of your borough with the city in so far as it ali'ecU tho tramway system. I have to inform you that fit tne mcelins of the- Wellington City Council held on November 13. tho following resolution was passed: 'That the council nt tlm city of Wellington re-olvo that, in the event of amalgamation of either or bath of the boroughs of Karon and Jliraniiir with the city, the tramway system in each borough will be treated as an integral part of tho city tramway sys'The Mayor (Mr. B. G. H.. Burn), in commenting 011 the letter, said that put the mutter on 11 somewhat sntisfuctoiy "basis. Ho did not know whether this included tho cost o£ the street wiUenniK in connection with tho construction ot the tramway, but he presumed it did. Tho special resolution wns continued and tho poll will be held on Decem- ! bei- 20.
