Christchurch, November ]8. t A meeting of tho Chnichce decided to submit tho following questions to candidates for Parliament :—Whether, in view of the phenomenal increase in gambling through the totalisator, the candidate would resist proposals for any enlargement of totalisator opportunities; also whether he tvouIo! support legislation for the supwession of bookmaking, especially by making bookmnkine an illegal calling, and the use of telegraphic, telephonic, and Doatal service} for gambling transactions illegal ?
