Tho (wo butchers on strike, who were arrested during the disturbance yesterday am! subsequently bailed out by the secrelarv of the Butchers' Tlnion, were chai'i'ed, first, with using insulting behaviour -with intent, to provoke a breach of the pence, and, secondly,' that they wrongfiillv walcliod a ehoi) villi inient to i)ievent a ninn from doing what he had n legal right to do, namely, working. There was a'large slathering of strikers in the, precincts of tho court. A somewhat warm discussion took place between the Magistrate and counsel a/s to a request made by counsel for an adjournment of the cases, which was opposed bv tho police. Eventually the ease was adjourned until the afternoon, when fines of .-05 were imposed for tho chuTgc relating to a breach of the peace, tho other charge 'being adjourned for a. week. The position as regards the etriko is unchanged, although another shop opened this morning, and the employers recard the position as highly satisfactory. There is some talk of a conference between tho employers and tho union, and that failing a conference the men may tako some action.
