MR. E. P. RISHWORTH AT TAITA. Welch's Hall, Taita, was crowded last nittlit, wheu Mr. E. P. Rishworth (Reform candidate) delivered an address. He was accoraed a very encouraging honrintr. .An attempt at the outset to create disorder was squashed by the sneaker, who said that lie had been threatened by the Liberal candidate with organised opposition which would interfere with his speaking, but he claimed the rizht of fres speech. Rishwortii had been instrumental (as representative with Mr. George London) in settins better conoitions for teachers and pupils. ' Mr. Rishworth said that only by having tho best educated and expert representatives could they have efficient government. and he 6UKpested that tho Government should bo advised by a committeo of experts taken from businesses, in the Kinio way as had lioen done during the war. It would givo the best opportunities for ooveloping our industries and for oreanisini? and. marketing our primary products. Ho advocated cheap and efficient transport, a fair division of labour. Monopolies aim combines were dealt with, and the candidate also touched on hind settlement and taxation, lie favoured restrictive legislation to prevent aggregation of good land.
