Lionel Rignold } was tho son of 11. 11. Rignold, and tho | brother of George, Harry, Dora, Kale, \ Bessie, Walter, and Marie Rignold, of fl whom tho late Mr. George Rijpiold, of ) Sydney, and Miss Dora Rignold (hero with n Musgrove's Shakespearean Company) wero i known in 'Wellington. Lionel first ap- i< peared on the slago as n baby in arms t in tho Mile- End Road, graduated as a i call-boy, prompter, actor, stage manager, \ and actor-manager. Ho was a fine, l/.uff, I hearty comedian, and was never at a a losa for a "gag." He was for some years t at Drury Lano playing thi> comedy parts o in melodrama, and created many roles si which became known tlic world over. Ho c was in tho long run of "The Chinese t Honeymoon" (as Mr. Pineapiile), and was i a director of the Royal General Thenf> a rical Fund.
