The first round of this club's current championship tourney was chiefly notable for ihe noii-succcss of the two Congress players who are taking part—Mr. James losing to Mr. Lindsay, and Mr. G.. A. .Tones to Mr. F. ,T. Brooker. These two unexpected results have naturally stimulated the interest which members aro taking in the club's first championship tourney. The club's return match with the South."Wellington Club, which. is scheduled to take place next Saturday at the Newtown Public Library, is beins; looked forward to by Inith clubs with ■ moro than ordinary interest.
