In tlio Houso of Commons an amendment was moved to the Aliens Bill to rxclndo former enemy aliens from (ho United Kingdom for seven years, instead of tlio Government's proposed two years. Mr. Shortt (irome Secretary) olfered three years as a compromise, and this was carried. A new clause was also parried prohibitim; former enemies having an interest in IlrilisH land, l;ey industries, or shipping during the some period. The Bill was pnssed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn,
