Auckland November 15. •Thomas Clegg. fish dealer, chargcd with receiving fish stolen from Sanford Ltd., was sentenced in the Supreme Court today to six months' imprisonment. A young man, Harold Richard Brcon, guilty of indecent assault (not of a very serioiis character) upon a littlo girl, was admitted to stringent probation for three years. , Probation for two years was imposed on Herbert Gladstone Ilebden for counselling auother person to commit forgery and himself uttering a forged document. Hobden induced a woman to impersonate his wife in making application to the Dafenco Department for a retrospective married allowance. A Hindu, named Nunda. whoso caso had caused a lot of legal difficulties connected with circumstances under which his plea of guilty was recorded, cruno up" finally for sentenco, the charge' against him being opening a postal packet addressed to a compatriot. He was fined XlO, and given a month in which to pay. . A young man named Percy Crabb, alias Percy Alderton, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment for forgery and uttering. There were Iwo previous convictions against accused. A young Maori named l'iuma 111110 admitted a charge of breaking and entering and theft. Ho had previously undergone three years' reformatory treatment for theft. He was sentenced to not more than three years' roformativo treatment.
