Tho death occurred on Saturday evening of Dr. Edith A. Huntley, of Mirnmar. Tho late Dr. Huntley passed away peacefully in her sleep. Dr. Hunv.oy graduated in England, practised lor several vears in India, and then came to Wellington, residing in Kelburn Parade. Later, the purchase of Miramar Home enabled hor to extend tho scope of her work. Upon the Defence Department leasing the home for the use of convalescent soldiers, Dr. Huntley, whose health was faffing-, gradually retired from act.ve practice Many unobstrusivo acts or kindly helpfulness, without hopo of reward will be recounted by thoso who had the privilege of really, knowing the late Dr. Huntley. The interment, which will be private, will take j/.ace at ICarori this afternoon.
A Pross Association cablegram from London states that Captain Norwood, of the Australian Y.M.C.A., is to succeed the Rev. Lioutenant-Colonel Walton left Eu'vut. in Juno last for England, and durins the last four months has been at Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities. Mr. N. Ogden, of Aramoho, has boen appointed vicar of Manain, in succession to tho Rev. W. Tye. The-Government Statislician (Mr. Malcolm Fraser. 0.8. E.), who is leaving this week for England to attend the Imperial Statistical Conference, was on Saturday morning the recipient of a presentation from the staff of the Census and Statistics Office. The presentation took the form of a suit, case each for Mrs. and Mr. Fraser. and most cordial wishes were expressed for a pleasant voyage and a safe return.
