COUNCIL'S FUTURE POLICY. In moving tho- adoption of tho Milk Committee's report at last night's nicot ing of the City Council,' Councillor W. H. Bennett (acting-chairman) said: "Tho time has come when tho council must consider seriously its future policy iu regard to the city milk station. Wβ mnde a temporary arrangement with the adjoining property owner so that we could carry on our work. That owner is now pressing for eonio statement as to what we aro going to do. We are holding him up in his' business arrangements." The Milk Committee could not move, Councillor Bennett continued, because tho chairman (Councillor C. B. Norwood).had brought, down a notice of motion with a view to combining with the milk station tho headquarters of n, parcels delivery service, and other things. No report upon the chairman's recommendation had been received, so far as the committee knew, Tho council was paying largo overhead charges for land taken in connection with tho proposed future operations. If the chairman's scliemo were thrown out by the council, it might be necessary for arrangements generally to bo remodelled. Tho council is at present, awaitintr a report from the City Engineer regarding Councillor Norwood's scheme.
