Indeed, as tins festival advances, miblic interest appears to be quickening. One very marked feature of the enmuetitions is the sporting spirit in which the competitors appear lime after time, when thov know by this time that they are likclv to bs outclassed. This must be taken as an indication that they all wish to run the gauntlet of tho judges criticism, which, if taken in the right spirit, cannot fail to bo helpful to those prepared and tuxious to learn, Therein lies the real fpirit of the competitions, niitf it is good to note its daily manifestation.
