BUTCHERS' WAGES
AGREEMENT REACHED TN HAWKE'S BAY DISPUTE. By Telegraph-Press Association. Napier, November 12. At the Conciliation Council to-day, before tho Commissioner (Jlr. W. Newton), an agreement was reached in the Hawke's Bay butchers' dispute. Tho hours of work are reduced from 52 to 51. There is an all-round increase in wages, Bβ follows:—Firet shopman, £i 155.: second shopman, JM 7s. fid.; fir.-t small goods, £1 l"2s. Gd.; all others. ,C 3 17s. (id. All overHine is to bo charged at the rain of 2s. 3d. per hour. All casual labour is to be engaged at the rate of 2s. per hour, with a minimum of six hours. Thewages of youths were fixed as under:— 17 years, *X 1 7s. Cd.; under 18. XI 12=. Cd.;' iinder 19, £2 2s. lid.: 1!) to 21 year?, ,C 2 15s. It was agreed that when there is a wliolo holiday during the week employees shall also get the ordinary statutory hnlf-holiday, except where there are two consecutive holidays in one week. One week's holiday on full pay is to be allowed employees'on completion of each veur of service.
