NEW POLICE STATION

TO BE ESTABLISHED AT LYALL BAY. Information was obtained from Police Headquarters yesterday that a new police station is about to be established at Lyall Bay. The Department has purchased a house in Freybercr Stret, Lyall Bay, and Constable C. S. Lo Fevre,' of Clyde Quay, will bo placed in charge. The Clyde Quay Police Station, which has been in existence for many years past, is to be abolished. Tho property there was held under a lease, which has now expired, and the house is required by the owner for other purposes. Clyde Quay will no longer have its own constable, but the area will eome under the control of the Taranaki Street Police Station. The new station at Lyall Bay will come into operation practically right away.
