Sir,—At the last meeting of the Women's International League the question of widows' pensions was discussed. Members present expressed great disappointment with tho scanty increase proposed and adopted by the Governmenti. It was resolved that a Ijttor be sent to tho Prime Minister, pointing out tha.li writh the present high cost of living it was impossible for a widow to secure tho barest necessities for herself and her children with tho totally inadequate allowance of 7s. Gd. for herself and 7s. 6d. for each child as proposed by the Prime Minister, and. urge that all witlows should be provided for at least as generously as the "epidemic widows."
