Mr. Newton .King reports :-At Waiwakaiho, on October 31, a full yarding of all classes was*offered, practically a full clearance rcsultiug at presont ruling prices; 15-month heifers, £5 10s. to £5 145.; eteere, £i to £4 17s. 6d.; 2-yea-r empty Jersey heifers, £8 ss. to £8 10a.; smaller do., £6 15s. to £7 10a.; other hciforE, £7 10a. to' £9; 2-year steers. £5 Ba. to £6 to.; 3-year do.. £8 12s. 6(1.; fresh-conditioned cows. £9 ss. to £9 10s.; atore do.. £6 ss. to £8 10s.; bulls. £9 lte. . The dairy cattlo offered were- only a fair, average quality lot, but there wan ffogd inquiry nevertheless. At Douglas, on November 3, cattlo camo forward in excess of yarding accommodation. The yarding wae in excese of tho demand, and prices were easier. The market had a slight tendency to drag, but nevertheless a good clearance resulted. A lino of 130 vearlinpr heifere (In lots), on account of Mr. J. F. Stevenson, sold from £4 19s. t<s £5 10a.; 10 exceptionally choico, well-grown 15-month Jersey heifers, on account of tho estate of S. J. Kawlcß, realised from £15 to £12 12a. 6d.; other heitere. £0 Ms. to £5 175.; I eteere, £3 95.; 2-ycar empty heifers, £7 ! 10s. to £8 10s.; small do., £6 7s. 3d.; fat I cows, £14; conditioned do., £9 to £9 15a.; i Btoro do., £6 2s. to £3 10a.; cows and \ calvcß, £8 12s. 6d. In the dairy pens oattle were nunieroue, but tho quality j throughout was not of a very high i dard. Inquiry also was a shade easier.
