SEASON'S PROSPECTS REVIEWED. /.The director of tho horticulture division of the Department of Agrionlture has received'from the apiary instructors the 'following report concerning tlio honey crop prospects: Auckland.—The prospects for tho present season seem particularly bright. Good weather has boon experienced during tho month, enabling tho beca to build up well. A few small lines of section honey on tho local market bavo realised Bs. per dozen. This price is likely to bo maintained. Beeswax is scarce,_ 2s. 3d. per lb. being offered. Wellington.—There is nothing fresh to report this month, as indications still appear favourable for tho secretion of nectar in Rood quantities. Ilumid conditions, with occasional showers, would n-ssist honey production materially. No lines are at present coming forward to the grading stores. Beeswax is soiling at 2s. 3d. per lb. for clean lines. Christchurch and Dunedin.—The prospects of «, good season are excellent" in most districts. Bees nro building well, and have come through tho winter in a satisfactory condition. Good weather has enabled the bees to work the fruit blooms and early flowering nectar plants. In both' districts there has been a steady flow, and a good season seems assured. A i few. small consignments still come for'\ward for export; and prices are excel- | 'ent'.
