RIDER- THROWN AND INJURED.

Auckland, November 7,

While being given walking exorcise this morning the racehorse Winning Shot was startled by a dog, and, taking charge of Ms rider, a lad named Crotcher, bolted downhill to LTleislie township, colliding with a Chinaman's cart. The lad Crotcher was thrown heavily, ami the horse had his leg broken in four places, having to be destroyed. Crotcher was removed to the hospital.
